Exceptional Preschoolers

Everything begins with a vision, an idea, a need for something new.  For myself, the void I felt was in making technology useful to special needs students at the preschool age.  As I was learning my craft I was able to use various technologies such as a Smart Board and PowerPoint but these revolutionary technologies are missing from my classroom.  With younger students many people are not really sure how technology plays a role in their life, let alone students with special needs.  This website is designed to give educators and parents resources for using technology with special needs students between the ages of 3-5.  In addition we shall be discussing different disabilities and ways to use technology to individualize their instruction.  It will also give some ideas for devices that might be used when it comes to children transitioning out of the preschool setting and into school age.  It is my goal that as a society we can come up with avenues to adapt technology to be useful to all.  Let’s enjoy the exploration.
